Message to Tracey Johnston

  1. Dear Tracey,

I so wish I could be the 3279 km from my home in Sydney to be with you. I wish I could physically let you know of my sadness in your loss. Even though we began knowing about this in June last year, and even though you were able to walk it with Graham the last 7 months, no doubt it's still a shock. Still a pain. Still a discomforting reality.

I keep thinking of Daniel's 3 friends. And their most famous conflict with Nebuchadnezzar. They said,
“Our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the furnace of blazing fire; and He will deliver us out of your hand, O king. But even if He does not, let it be known to you, O king, that we are not going to serve your gods or worship the golden image that you have set up.” (Daniel 3.17-18)
We prayed, we hoped, we dreamed of Graham's healing, and we believed. And the words of Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-nego ring in my ear, and maybe bring you comfort in this time, "even if he does not" They were confident, but even if they got it wrong, they didn't get it wrong.

They didn't get it wrong, and you and all the folks at Subi didn't get it wrong. Even if he does not, you continue in faith, in love for one another and for the Lord. And that would make Graham happy. And it certainly brings a smile to the face of the Almighty.

May you know His comfort today and throughout your days.
